The agreement was signed by Thuraya's Chief Commercial Officer Mr. Sabah Al Kudies and IEC / SAFA Group Board Member, Mr. Dominique Audion, and it involved the purchase of 1,960 ThurayaDSL terminals.
IEC, which is based in both Paris and Dubai, is a specialized data and maritime communication distributor.
In accordance with the agreement IEC will be distributing ThurayaDSL products in all Thuraya markets. Moreover, it will be providing technical and customer support, in addition to marketing, sales and product development services, with a special focus on corporate segment requirements for applications and terminals.
IEC will also support ThurayaDSL Service Providers with marketing and technical assistance. Service Providers and their customers will be able to receive on demand support for any problems with ThurayaDSL.
'I am very pleased for Thuraya to have re-enforced the long-standing partnership with IEC Group through the signing of the exclusive agreement. It will surely add great value and lead to growth of our ThurayaDSL product and to the way SPs of this product are currently supported. It is also highly anticipated that with the expertise and established distribution chain of IEC, the marketing of ThurayaDSL will witness substantial success,' said Mr. Al Kudies.
He also commented that existing ThurayaDSL Service Providers can still continue purchasing ThurayaDSL products and receiving support from Thuraya.
'The IEC / SAFA Group is very proud to have been selected by Thuraya for the new partnership on ThurayaDSL. We are confident that the satellite broad-band market can be successfully addressed with the Thuraya Technology and all our team is committed to bring the dedicated support needed for this new key and growing product,' said Mr. Dominique Audion, a board member of IEC / SAFA Group.
The agreement will enhance the growth of revenue and will open doors for further collaboration with IEC Group on distributing Thuraya's new products.
